Atina Video art Festivali 2009
14-17 mayıs tarihleri arasında Atina Şehri Atina Gazi “Teknoşehir” Belediyesi’nde düzenlenen Atina Video Art Festivaline Türkiye’den Şinasi Güneş “Anadolu” isimli video art çalışması iştirak etti. Bu çalışma, Anadoluda yaşayan farklı kültürlere sahip kadınların imajlarını içermektedir ve kadın ile örtünme arasındaki ilişkiyi irdelemektedir.

Festival, Yunanistan da yeni medya ve dijital sanatların uluslararası olarak gösterimini sağlamakta ve dijital kültüre katkı sağlamayı amaçlamaktadır. Bu festival her yıl düzenlenmekte olup kamunun, kuruluşların ve sanatçıların desteğini almaktadır.
Atina Video Art Festivaline 58 ülkeden 1368 sanatçı video art, enstelasyon, web art, performans, animasyon ve dijital imaj kategorilerinde başvuru yapmıştır.

Festivalde video art olarak seçilmiş 7.5 saatlik kayıt mataryelinden en önemli 31 video Nam June Paik e övgü bölümünde gösterildi.
Smithsoniam Amerikan Sanat Müzesi küratör, film ve medya danışmanı John Hanhardt, “The Worlds of Nam June Paik- Nam June Paik’in dünyaları” başlığıyla Koreli video sanatçısının çalışma ve hayatı üzerine konuşma gerçekleştirdi.
Ayrıca Concordia Üniversitesi Elektronik Sanatlar da profesör olan Bill Vorn’un “robotik sanatlar performansı ‘Grace State Machines” projesi" nin gösterimide bu festivalin bir diğer parçasını oluşturdu.

Athens Video Art Festival, returns with an impressive and celebrational edition. We invite you to live the experience from the 14th to the 17th of May 2009, at “Technopolis” of the Municipality of Athens. It is the biggest festival of digital arts and new media that represents Greece internationally, aiming to the promotion of digital culture. The festival has won the support of artists, institutions and public, that attend it every year.The festival includes art works from a broad spectrum of digital creativity, presentations of the worlds’ biggest festivals with exclusive material and representatives, academic tributes, special collaborations, and concerts. Mostly we are characterized by our imagination and our experimental attitude.This year we inaugurate two new categories; animation and digital image, that add up to the ones already known to the public; video art, installations, web art and performance. 1.368 artists from 58 countries submitted their proposals for Athens Video Art Festival 09.The public will enjoy a historical tribute to Nam June Paik. 31 videos of the most important representative of video art will be screened during a tribute that exceeds 7.5 hours of recorded material. John Hanhardt, Film and Media Consulting Curator of Smithsoniam Museum of American Art and curator of the last retrospective exhibition of Nam June Paik at the Guggenheim “The Worlds of Nam June Paik” will deliver a speech on the life and work of the Korean video artist.The admirers of moving pictures will enjoy unique presentations, such as animation showcases from Milano Film Festival and Pratt Institute, video art from the latest edition of Transmediale and Goethe Institut and two films that will be screened for the first time in Greece: "Kurt Cobain: About a Son", and "Introspective" in collaboration with In - Edit Beefeater Musical Documental Festival de Barcelona.Also, especially for Athens Video Art Festival 09, we will present the Robotic Arts Performance "Grace State Machines", a project by Bill Vorn, professor of Electronic Arts at the Concordia University. Every day after the screenings, there will be concerts starting at 21:00, and concluded at midnight.
This year we celebrate our 5th edition, and we invite you to live the experience at Athens Video Art Festival 09, at “Technopolis” of the Municipality of Athens at Gazi, from the 14th to the 17th of May.
