Exhibition PARABOLE
16.04 – 25.07.2013 / Sofia, Ruse, Plovdiv, Varna

ArtUP! - Media Art in Bulgaria, Greece and Turkey, a project of the Goethe-Institut in those three countries, opens the new exhibition PARABOLE, curated by Yovo Panchev.

The exhibition PARABOLE presents 15 artists from Bulgaria, Greece and Turkey with their selected artworks in several exhibitions in Bulgaria and in an online exhibition on the virtual exhibition space ArtUP!.

In this group exhibition, media artists from the three countries explore new local urban legends, intending to provide a wider critical reflection on the past, to depict the current period of mobility, migration and crisis as well as to examine the future perspectives in the region.

PARABOLE unfolds in a series of exhibitions in Sofia (Goethe-Institut and the fridge), Ruse (Dom Canetti), Plovdiv (The Ancient Bath) and Varna (contemporary space) between 16th April and 25th July 2013.
The PARABOLE runs in addition on the virtual exhibition space ArtUP!, starting from 16th April 2013.

The opening reception of the exhibition PARABOLE is on 16th April 2013 at 6 p.m. at the Goethe-Institut in Sofia.

El Festival Internacional de Vídeoarte de Camagüey anuncia la celebración de su 5ª edición, que tendrá lugar en la ciudad de Camagüey, Cuba, del 24 al 28 de abril del 2013.

El Festival ofrece la oportunidad de presentar nuevas obras de vídeoarte, tanto de artistas emergentes como consagrados. La participación es abierta a artistas nacionales e internacionales, sin distinción de edad ni sexo y sin costo alguno. La convocatoria se dirige especialmente a instituciones, artistas, galeristas, curadores y teóricos del arte.

El plazo para recibir obras finaliza el 28 de febrero del 2013.

Manzara, her bir sanatçı için aynı açıdan bakılsa dahi birbirinden kopuk, farklı anlatımları yansıtır. Tür olarak, manzara denildiğinde ya da bu sergide olduğu gibi bu türden çalışmalar bir araya getirildiğinde manzara üzerine farklı bir fikir edinebiliriz. "Herhangi bir doğa manzarası, kent manzarası ya da ekolojik manzaraya bakıldığında, estetik deneyim bakan gözün orada saklı duran güzelliği fark etmesiyle etkileşimli bir sürecin tetikleyicisi olacaktır. Bu bir tür matematiksel güzelliktir. Simetrinin, armoninin, biçimin, kalıpların, içsel ilişkilerin, düzenin, birliğin ve tüm bunların içerisindeki farklılıkların – ki farklılık güzelliktir – içerisinde yattığı manzara görüntüsü, öncelikle sanatçı tarafından keşfedilecek ve ardından yetkin bir biçimde kompoze edilecektir. Artık bunun bir adım sonrası izleyici tarafından orada yer alan güzelliklerin keşfedilmesi ve her bir parçasının dekode edilmesi olacaktır.
 Manzaralar sadece bir görüntünün taklidi ya da "manzara" hakkında bir üretim değildir, aynı zamanda manzaranın kendisi de bu dünyanın bir parçasıdır. Yaşamın içinden birer alıntıdır, Türkiye'de içinde bulunduğu hayli romantik (siyasal, kültürel ve sanatsal) süreç içerisinde bu yaşam anlarına manzaralar aracılığıyla şahit olmaktadır. Küratörün ve serginin zamanlamasının başarısının burada yattığı düşünülebilir. Kentsel dönüşüm, deprem riski taşıyan bölgelerin dönüştürülmesi, restorasyonlar, bakımlar ve onarımlar, yeşil alan projeleri, dinlence alanları vs. her bir girişim, daha mutlu ve huzurlu bir çevre adına resmi kurumlar, özel girişimler tarafından projelendirilirken, insan yaşamı sürekli evrilmekte ve etkileştiği çevre tarafından da dönüştürülmektedir.
Manzaranın kişiyi etkilemesi, kişinin manzarayı etkilemesi, doğanın ve kentin gelişimindeki diyalektik sürecin aynısıdır. Sanatçılarda bu durumun birer öznesi ve nesnesi olarak davranmakta, gündelik yaşamın içerisindeki önemli bir unsur olan manzaranın her türlüsünü içlerinde ya majör bir türün ürünü olarak ya da minör olarak çalışmalarının içerisinde sunmaktadır. "Vadim O Kadar Yeşildi Ki!.." Türkiye'nin değişen manzarasının her bir farklı dönem, yaş kuşağı, cinsiyet ve yaklaşımlar açısından nasıl farklı olarak ele aldığının ve sunulduğunun önemli bir kesitini oluşturacak büyük bir sergi sunumu. Bizlere düşen görev de, hem böyle bir kesiti bizlere sunan girişimi tebrik etmek, ama bunun da ötesinde değişen bu manzaranın içerisindeki kodları deşifre etmektir."
 Bu sergi ile geçmişten günümüze kalan belge resimlerle yarına devredecek günümüz sanatçılarının işleri bir arada daha geniş bir perspektifle farklı bir değerlendirmeyi ya da karşılaştırmayı zorunlu kılmakta…
