İstanbul Galeri-X’te düzenlenen, Küratörlüğünü Şinasi Güneş ve Gülsün Erbil’in üstlendikleri “Takıntı” (Obsession) Uluslararası Audio - Video Art Festivali 2 - 8 Haziran tarihleri arasında İstanbul’da gerçekleşti. Festivalde, aralarında Türkiye, İngiltere, Fransa, Almanya, A.B.D, İtalya, İspanya, Hollanda, Japonya, Çin olmak üzere 17 ülkeden 67 sanatçının 2 ila 10 dakika arasında değişen video çalışmaları gösterime sunuldu.
Çin’li sanatçı Deng Da Fei’nin “Uzaylı astronot “adlı performans videosu’nda ayaklarının tersi ile bir yuvarlak bir kütle yürütülüyordu. Sanatçı kent meydanında dakikalarca bu zorlu yürüyüşü sürdürüyordu.
Alman Sanatçı Najda Schrade’nin “Ombra Mai Fu “isimli videosu klasik müzik eşliğinde bir erkeğin yavaş bir şekilde traş edilmesinden oluşuyordu.
Alman sanatçılar Sylvia Winkler & Stephan Koeperl ikilisi dünyanın bir çok yerinde yaptıkları performans videoları ile tanınıyorlardı.
Sylvia Winkler & Stephan Koeperl’in “Metro Mexico”sunda ise metro’da sanatçılar insanlara 5 pezo dağıtıyorlar. Sanatçılar günlük hayattaki para vermeye yönelik olan algılamayı tersine çeviriyorlardı.
İtalyan sanatçı Valentina Brandolini “Anne” İsimli videosunda anne ve kız yer değiştiriyor, ensest bir ilişki oluşturuyorlardı. Bu video çalışması tabuları zorlaması ile oldukça dikkati çekti.
İtalyan sanatçı Werther Germondari’nin “Ofis” isimli performans çalışmasında;
Sandalye üzerinde sürekli dönen sanatçı, sandalye’nin ayağını kameraya alıyor, aynı
zamanda da kendiside kameraya alınıyordu. Gözetleyen ve gözetlenen’de gözetiliyordu bu video performans’da..
İtalyan sanatçı Alberto Magrin’in “Mary'nin Evi” video’su belkide festivalin en yalın ve romantik videosu idi. Romantik bir müzik eşliğinde bir ada’ya doğru ulaşmaya çalışan fakat hep yerinde yüzen bir erkek figürü izleyenleri adeta büyüledi.
Türk sanatçı Vicdan Nalbur Taşdemir’in, “Oyuncak, oyun, illüzyon, sahne”isimli videosu bir bebek fabrikasında çekilmiş görüntülerden oluşuyordu.
“Takıntı” Uluslararası Audio Video Art Festivali, dış dünyadaki video art ürünlerinin toplu bir şekilde Türk sanat izleyicisine ulaşmasını sağlayarak video sanatı bağlamında bir başlangıç oluşturdu denilebilir. Dış dünyadaki üretimler ile mukayese edilen türk video sanatının kritize edilmesine vesile oldu.

"OBSESSION" INTERNATIONAL AUDIO-VIDEO ART FESTIVAL
The international Audio-Video Art Festival "Obsession", arranged in Istanbul Gallery -X, curated by Gülsün Erbil and Şinasi Güneş, is existing to be an activity, which makes itself to stand for the part of the big targets and aims to fill the important blank. Galerix, who had before realized twice in New York and once in Istanbul audio-video art festival, will be realizing the fourth time of the festival this year so that it forms the continuity. The international Audio-Video Art Festival named as "Obsession" is a big activity.This activity positions itself as a part of big ambitions that intends to close a big gap.The festival occurs 89 artists from Turkey, United Kingdom, France, Germany, United States of America, Slovenia, Greece, Italy, Spain, Nederlands, Sweden, Switzerland, Makedonia, Malta, Austria, China and Japan who have video arts about 1 and 11 mınutes. Begining of the Video Art in the world is ,Sony Company's first portable video camera production in 1965 and also Corean artist Nam Juke Paik's personal Works with this camera.. There are also some studies exist before this year. Video Art studies which became popular in 70's showed a wide production prevalenty as conceptual art Works , immediately recordings,feminist-performance,video sculpture ,video arrangement etc..In 90's in paralel with internet's developement ,the art format which is made conceptional as new media ,intermedia , keeps on growing with a high speed. Turkey who met video in 80's , could be able to detect this as a personal production material and these productions succeded in the area of documentary film ana narrow film. It happened in a 5-6 year the visual arts environment's perception of the video as a artistic production material. Works of the the environmet which is generally interets in creating alternative art formats,are succeded paralel with the other productions( enstelation,arangement etc..) In this center , the number of person working constant is very poor. On the other hand , the festival aimed to fill that space in Turkey. It aimed to make an archive consequently a storage by protecting the incoming works in the festival building..The festival , thinks to create a ground for the upcoming activities, wants to increase the production and interests for this art creating format in this way. The festival, with its international dimension,aims to be an artistic ground where video artists succeded their communication and interaction.Our knowledge takes on a shape by the materials, used to know. Art and the other conventional materials give us different ways to create our knowledge and different understanding ways to perceive the reality. Cinema and video are the technological happenings that improved paralel to developments in pyhisic and chemistry. The materials that appeared in the time of scientific conceptions,present us the vision format beyond the formation conditions. Close-up,slow motion , montage etc.. has created a radical transformation.Video camera is divided from cinema by the possibilities given for subjective sight and production's indivuduality.Video-Art is a different visual connection. This visual activity , moves our visual contact area to another dimension and increase our competence of this kind new experiences.The thing we called reality is seen only if you turn around it..Of course this is not a result reached with a cold relation. This is a new visual excitement. Video camera presents us a wiew for setting up our subjectivity. Here the looking motion turn into sight..for that reason video camera is correct material for documanteries every time..But there are some situations beyond the witnessing.Not only superficial sihgt but also it's about seeing deeply and conception.Although the sight and thinking are classified like different things in philosophical environments,actually they are the sythesiss which always crowded and support each other. Now, "Obsession" international Audio -VideoArt Festival makes a new invitation to us. This invitation is a new invitation for seeing, realizing ourselves and environment, We must power our cameras on and make our eyes ready and go out!
